Alfonso, we’re looking forward to seeing you at the Health Revolution Congress. Can you please introduce yourself and tell us about Silanes?
I am Alfonso De Robina, head of Corporate Venture Capital in Grupo Silanes, a Mexican pharmaceutical company with global presence, dedicated to the Research and Development of therapeutic innovations.
Can you elaborate about what’s new at Silanes these days?
We are one of the main Mexican laboratories and are involved in different therapeutic areas of health, such as cardio metabolic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol), chronic pain, central nervous system, respiratory infections, anti-poisons, among others. In each one of these areas, we focus on offering the medical staff more and better treatments for their patients.

Because today health, medicine and innovation are directly related to technology. It is a complex but at the same time fascinating ecosystem in which it is necessary to be updated and above all, to know the trends that will directly benefit the population and all those involved in health.
You’re also part of the panel about “Leading Change in Pharma through Digital Health”. Can you tell us your take on the digital transformation of pharma?
It was only a matter of time before the digital transformation reached us. The pandemic accelerated its arrival; those who were prepared perfected their digital processes; those who were not, found themselves in trouble or reinvented themselves. It was the same for doctors, patients and consumers. Today we can say that everything is moving towards a balance with the use of technologies in the field of health and pharmaceutical industry.
What are you excited about for the Health Revolution Congress?
To meet entrepreneurs and their companies with fresh ideas that have innovative differentiators that add value in the solution of health problems that affect millions of people.
